Is anyone here applying for Chinese citizenship?
During the past some days I have come to learn of a Filipino Chinese guy with American citizenship who has chosen to move to China. His native Chinese wife is suffering from cancer and he has been unable to provide for her medications and treatment while in US.
Clearly the guy was unable to integrate himself with highly competitive US environment and didn’t have a steady income to provide for his wife’s care. So he has been in Shanghai for five years and has been employed as Chinese 50 cent party member writing propaganda stories for Chinese government.
Do you know anything about this trend? Have you come across any US citizen of Chinese or part Chinese descent who are giving up their US citizenship because they were unable to adjust themselves to American way of life and seeking Chinese citizenship?
Is China’s authoritarian police state really so attractive for people that they seek Chinese citizenship?
If there was any American applying for Chinese citizenship, it would really be an exception.
