Clinical Nutrition Veterinary

To all Veterinary Nursing / Vet Tech people: I passed my first year!?

To all who follow my progress here on Y!A Dogs, I found out today that I have officially passed my first year of my B.Sc in Veterinary Nursing – Yay!

I ended up with a grade point of average of 77% and passed my 3 month clinical placement portfolio with flying colours.

Thanks to everyone on here who helped me get one step closer to my dream job, it was tough but worth it.

Oh, and for a question:

Do you think people should have to pass some sort of test before being allowed to own a dog?
I mean as in actually enforcing a dog-license law whereby the owner would have knowledge in areas of care, husbandry, behaviour, nutrition etc? and where bad breeding is prohibited by law?

It would be difficult, but if it was enforced properly it could reduce neglect dramatically.

Congrats :)

Yes I do believe their should be some sort of license and course to pass in order to have a dog or any other animal for that matter, its become too easy to just do what you want with out thinking ahead and thats where it all goes wrong, its like having kids… some just dont think far enough and end up in the shit and some cant get themselves out. I think it would slowly end the suffering to poorly cared for pets.
And if you know nothing about an animal you want and just want one for the sake of it, then NO I do not believe they should have a pet, it take alot to care for some one/thing else and they are life time commitments… also if people just though ahead, most of the animals in shelters would not be there.
