Colon Cleansing After Colonoscopy

What to expect from a colonoscopy/endoscopy?

I’m a 15 year old female and am getting both procedures done at once tomorrow. I have done the prep and am now experiencing the colon cleansing (not fun!) I had a few questions about it though.
1. When will I stop going to the bathroom?
2. My doctor said they would knock me out for the procedure, will the medicine or anesthesia cause vomiting (severely afraid of throwing up!)
3. Will they have to put a catheter in me?
4. Someone called and said I could drink until 11am and I start being prepped at 1pm, but don’t you have to not drink for 6-8 hours before an endoscopy?
5. When will I be able to eat and digest food normally after the procedure?

1, everyone is different, some will stop as soon as the colon is cleared in a 3-4 hour time period, some will take much longer especially if you have a tendency to be constipated.

2, No vomiting usually from the anesthetic which is injected through an IV in you arm. You are not under general anesthesia which the kind that can make a lot of people vomit. There is no formal Anesthesiologist, just the doctor who does the scope; he injects the medicine to make you sleepy and not remember everything.

3, If you mean urinary catheter, NO just the endoscope to look down your throat into your stomach and a colonoscope to look into your rectum and throughout your colon.

4. they gave you the correct timing

5. immediately
