I've been looking online at the latest diets crops, and ultimately everything I've been seeing various versions of colon cleansing products, such as "A flat stomach and Colopure rule. Every time time I try to research the products and procedures, which only end up reading through advertisements and testimonials. There seems to be no legitimate investigation at all! This makes me very reluctant to spend time and money on the products offered, because there is no solid evidence is provided to ensure that they really work. My question is: has anyone found that there are some real scientific or medical information about any of these fad diets? I lost 48 pounds in the last year, but I've been several months now planteauing and really I would like to drop below a size 16. If these diets really work, I'd give it a try one, but I'm not going to take all these witnesses of faith: I want a damn bit of evidence.

Here are some reasons why: the natural bacteria in the colon detoxify food wastes. The liver also neutralizes the toxins. The mucous membranes in the colon keep unwanted substances from re-entering the blood and tissues. The colon sheds old cells or less every three days, preventing the accumulation of harmful material. The normal number of bowel movements varies from person to person. It can be as often as a couple of times a day or as little as a couple of times a week. The increased number of bowel movements did not improve weight loss. That is because the body absorbs more calories before reaching the large intestine.
