Are herbal supplements with prescription drugs safe?

I am taking prescription medication and was wondering if you can take something Acai Berry called a colon cleanse? Acai is a dietary supplement. My doctor is not in but I was wondering if anyone has an idea about this mix? I can take very low doses of levothyroxine, Toprol, Celexa and Xanax. Thanks for any help.

The Acai berry should not be any problem for you. However, the Colon cleansing can. Colon Cleanse Is the product contains large amounts of fiber and / or bentonite clay? If so, do not take the same time you take other medications, it can keep your medications in their intestinal tract and prevent its absorption. Take at least two hours between doses of drugs and colon cleansing, just to be insurance.
