Colon Cleansing Nonsense
Posted in Health and Nutrition on 08/01/2008 06:50 pm by Steven NerenbergSorry this is a serious issue, but …?
I've been listening to the radio ads touting the health benefits of supplements the colon cleansing diet, which make claims that can be "internally scrape the walls of the colon by taking this pill," free of 15.5 pounds of waste material accumulated. Get a flat stomach! Bla bla bla. Has anyone investigated these claims and found them to be true, or is it all a load of nonsense designed to clean your bank account extra cash? Of course, I'm not trying to lose weight. I was curious about these claims because they sound so implausible.
Unhealty not to do a colon cleanse, occasionally, but your body get rid of waste, not as a diet aid. Empty the colon of stool may have some weight but not fat … is waste material. This material will build back in a relatively short period of time. To lose weight you need to eat well and exercise. There is no magic wand. If we take away our poop free so easily, there would be many obese people on the planet.
