Health And Fitness Houston

I am a university of houston student and I will be transfering to Texas Tech next fall, but before I go out there I want to make my body more muscular, specifically my upper body. I have the tall, skinny body type so I think bulking up would help me look much better. I have access to a state of the art fitness facility on campus. My current plan is to have a work out with weights once every 3 days and use whey protein as a supplement to help.
My main questions are as follows:
A) Is once every 3 day the right amount of time to space it out, or should I change this length of time?
B) I like to run 2-3 miles a day. Will continuing to do this prevent me from bulking up my upper body?
C) Is whey protein the best supplement to be taking? I dont want anything that involves shrinking my balls or that would have long-term health damage. I’ve considered using creatine but Ive heard that this also has the negative side effects of steroids.

Try 5 days a week but alternate upper body and lower body.
Your running should not effect bulking at all (cardio is a body builders best friend). Try looking at www.bodybuilding.com for ideas. Whey protein is what i use and helped me gain 20 pounds of muscle pretty fast. Sorry but I do not know though wether its bad for you or not. Good Luck.
