I'm trying to build muscles and doing very well so far, what about eating habits, though?

I'm trying to get a flat stomach so you can build my six pack (when I tense up you can see my abs) so you only need to lose a bit lightweight, because my gut protrudes only slightly, I'm doing this by running go, I'm also eating protein to build my muslces when I eat my food? After or before exercise and for how long before or after? then I'll run back and do weights, pushups and sit ups.My diet is greatly around vegtables fruits and meat I understand that research is a good way to health and fitness and cabohydrates some? Please help with advice, if I'm doing the right method to become fit, healthy and more muscular.
