Health And Fitness Screening

I have had my cholesterol checked every year for the past 5 years. My LDL (bad cholesterol) has always been low (in the 70′s). The last time I had it tested was 3 months ago and it came in at 78. Last month, the company I work for sponsored a health screening where cholesterol was checked among other things. When I received my results, my LDL cholesterol came in at 144 and the fitness profile that came with it said I needed to lower my cholesterol. Does this seem right to you? Could my cholesterol rise to 144 from 78 in less than 3 months? I haven’t been on any medication or have any other changes in lifestyle or diet. I am planning to visit my doctor to get another test, but until I get an appointment I’m interested in what others think? My initial reaction was that the result is wrong especially because my cholesterol has been consistently in the 70′s for the past 5 years., and was until only 3 months ago.
there must be something wrong there specially since you just sateted that there has been no dramatic change in life style on your diet….going to the doc is the best thing you can do, you know i know this is when tested for diabetes but it could be that you had just eaten something before the testing….dont really know still double checking w/ your doc is good
