How long are herbal supplements?

Well, I researched on the internet could not find anything about any of these things called Purifast 30, 30 Day Colon Cleanse. 90 tablets of 500 mg, manufactured by Foundation East. I even called the phone number, and is just busy all the time. This material should be old, I found in my study of mothers, but my boyfriend wanted to do a colon cleanse so I am screwed. I'm a little iffy on letting take it, however, as it could be more than 10 years of age. Any suggestions? Has a proprietary blend with 500 mg of rhubarb root mass, seeds of Cassia seeds, licorice root, Coptis-root mass, root shield Persica-Seeds.

If it's so old, you may want to throw out. Even when properly dried herbs lose much of their power in a few years … a little longer if stored outside of an environment without oxygen, but not much anyway. Similar to the grain in the closet … become rancid over time. I do not use after a period of 3-4 years myself. In addition, a clean 30 days would cost almost nothing of all modes. Good luck!
