Children that live in poverty, particularly those with low income families, struggle in maintain a good health. Especially children who’s parents have a limited budget for food and can only afford inexpensive meals that contain fats, oils and grease. These children that don’t receive the proper vitamins, minerals and nutrients are more likely to become ill and have a shorter life expectancy than those at higher income levels.Studies have shown that 20 percent of poor children die before the age of 5 and 50 percent are affected by improper nutrition. Children who don’t eat properly are also in danger of not developing a healthy immune system to protect them against a disease. In addition nutrition has a great impact in poor children’s development of growth and puberty. Children living in these conditions are always facing life treating situations.
