Nutrition Artichokes Facts

Are artichoke hearts yummy? Can you compare them to any other foods?
My parents just brought home a big jar of marinated artichoke hearts and told me I’d like them…but they look so scary!! I read the nutrition facts and they’re low-cal and seem good for me…which means I really WANT to like them…but I’m scared to try them.
How do they taste? Is it a strong flavor? Could you maybe compare them to another food I might be more familiar with? They look really terrible but maybe they’re good…I need someone vouching for their flavor so that I may have COURAGE!
Random question I know, but I’d appreciate any feedback!

Tastes kinda like a mushy little cabbage. However, since they are marinated they will taste tangy just like a mushroom marinade.
I like the un-marinated artichokes better and chop them up into a dip with sour cream, parmesan, jalepenos.
But you will never know until you try them — so go try
