Nutrition Bbq Ribs

Here are my choices at an upcoming BBQ. Help me out please?

Sirloin steak
Rib eye steak
T-bone steak
Chicken leg in some kind of marinade
Teriyaki shrimp

I have reservations about all of them cuz i’m not sure how they’ll be marinated. Since the chicken mentions the marinade it’s an immediate turn-off. I THINK sirloin is the leanest cut of all my choices right? I’m tempted to go for the teriyaki shrimp just cuz it’s shrimp which would make it low calorie but then who knows about the marinade.

The BBQ is at a family friend’s house who takes cooking very seriously. It’s a made-to-order menu! So he’s the type who values taste over nutrition or health concerns. So i pretty much dont trust any of the dishes he’ll be serving.

Thoughts, comments, input? I would really appreciate it. Also if u could give me some idea about the calories and fat content, etc. that would be amazing.

THANK YOU!

Don’t mix fats & carbs at the same meal if you’re an easy-gainer / hard-loser.

It’s ok to mix protein + fat at a meal
It”s ok to mix protein + carb at a meal

Fat is not an enemy. You need essential fatty acids. The rule of thumb you should use is never eat meat that has more calories coming from fat than protein. If you look on the label and 1/2 or more cals come from fat, toss it back.

So, either:

Sirloin or T-bone … no marinade (fat + protein)

– or –

Teriyaki shrimp (protein + carb)

Rib eye is a very fatty piece of meat. Fun on occasions, but not a regular thing.
T-bone is more fatty than a sirloin, but still fairly lean
Chicken leg can be good. You can remove the marinade since most of it will be on the skin you remove. But dark meat has more fat, and depending on how the chicken is raise it can be fattier than other dark mean chicken.

Get a side salad. Skip the potatoes, potatoe salad, cole slaw and that other crap people bring to the barbeque. When dessert goes around, skip it. Eat some more shrimp or sirloin.

All the fat-asses at the bbq are going to say “you should eat some dessert!” Tell them, “I look this way, because I watch what I eat and don’t eat dessert. And besides, all fattening foods have carbs + fats combined…like pie, cookies, donuts…and that dessert you’re stuffing your face with.” That’ll shut them up.
