Nutrition Csun

Does where you go to college really matter in the job market world?

I’m as of now a JC student at my local community college
& i plan on transferring to CSUN

Seeing as this economy is going in the tank im trying to go about
college the most inexpensive way i can so i can get out with the less
debt.

My major is in nutrition so i hope to go to csun
then go onto a really prestigious graduate school
for nutrition.

but does it really matter where you go to college as long as you just got the degree?

It matters most for your first job after graduation, whether that’s after your bachelor’s or after an advanced degree. Your school will be one of the things potential employers judge you on, rightly or wrongly, and the networking opportunities and experience provided by that school will be how you get interviews. For pretty much anything else you do after your first job, the experience you have during that job will matter much more than where your degree is from.

Your undergraduate school also matters for grad school admissions. Grad schools are well aware of which schools send them the most well-prepared students. The school doesn’t necessarily have to be the most prestigious to have the best grad school admissions rate, but generally the highest rates come from the best-ranked schools.
