First off I know there is no miracle supplement, and I’m not looking for one. But I also know that when used correctly, supplements can help you get the most out of your workouts.
My friend started working at a nutrition store, and he’s letting me use his discount so the price is not a huge factor. So far I have:
Jack3d: pre workout
Creatine: pre/post workout
Whey protein: post workout
Anything else I should use or consider? Thanks!
This is how creatine works we have 3 energy systems in the body and the 3 energy systems are the creatine phosphate energy system, lactate energy system, and the aerobic energy system. There basic job is to make and deliver the ATP energy molecule. So when we workout and use ATP it loses a phosphate group. So it goes from ATP to ADT. So what creatine does is donates a phosphate group so it converts ADT back into ATP at a faster rate giving you a little extra snap and a few more reps when working out. If you haven’t maxed out your muscle building potential i wouldn’t even worry about taking creatine. This drives me CRAZY. You don’t need additional protein to gain muscle. The FDA only recommends 58 grams of protein even for bodybuilders. We get 3 times that in our normal daily diet. Think about it a small piece of chicken has like 30 grams of protein so in a normal diet we get more then enough protein. People that need more protein are marathoners because when they are running for long periods of time (26.2 miles) there body starts to use a percentage of protein for energy along with fats and carbs. So unless your an Olympic marathoner skip on the protein you get enough of it already in a normal diet. Even in a crappy diet you get lots of protein.
