What types of insects can you feed fish? feeder fish?
name says it all, i want to know what type of insects are a good source of protein, nutrition and vitamins for fish. are ants good? grasshoppers? worms? snails?
another question is what is a good feeder fish for my fire eels?
maybe not even feeder fish but whats a good source of meat for them?

Hi,
You can purchase crickets, earthworms or live blackworms from specific aquarium shops. Or you could get baby crickets or earthworms from your backyard.
My fish eat a variety of flakes, granules, frozen foods as well as the occasional live treat these might include a chopped earthworm from the backyard, bought crickets or some live blackworms.
All fish should have live foods in there diet though on occasions as worms and crickets contain loads of fat as well as a possible infection.
A usual good feeder fish for eels include, gungeons and ghost shrimp.
