Advise on quitting caffine and other bad things?
I am starting a weight loss program under doctors supervision. I especially want my 4 year old to eat healthy since he has a family history of obesity. Our family is against me since they prefer the fun and fellowship of food but ignore the health problems it could cause. My husband and mother-in-law think there is nothing wrong with my 4 year old drinking tea, sodas loading food down with salt and eating lots of candy. I really want to eat healthy for me and him. I have quit caffeine cold turkey and I have the withdrawal headache. My son seems okay so far. He also seems more happy. It has only been 24 hours. I need all the advise i can get on nutrition so that I can try and plead my case when my husband and mother-in-law continue to offer my son lots of junk. (we also have a 20 year old son that is very obese and I do not want this to happen to our younger child).
This is a great resource for learning about nutritiona and planning your meals. See menu planner.

Your kids are your kids and you want what is best for them. Start by not purchasing sodas, candy, and other junk food.
