Nutrition Food Scale

I want to lose 10 lbs through diet and exercise. Can I reach my goal or will new muscle mass skew the result?
I currently weigh 130, and would like to get down to 120 in the next six months. I have already started adjusting my diet, focusing on good nutrition and eliminating junk foods. I have also started doing cardio work like running, biking, and swimming. I would like to incorporate some strength training to “tone up” , but I am afraid that in doing so I won’t hit my goal of 120 due to increased muscle mass.
Can someone tell me how quickly muscle mass is put on? And, as you put on muscle mass, about how many pounds get added to the scale?
I would hate to set my sights on 120, only to discover I can’t reach it through healthy means.
Aerobic excercise doesn’t add much muscle and burns the most calories however any kind of weightlifting will add muscle mass. It would be easier whether to say its healthy or not if I new your height.
