Thinking about becoming an ultrasound tech?

Hello everyone, who will graduate from the University of Florida with a degree in Sciences Food and Human Nutrition in May 2011. I have the hope of being accepted into medical school and starting in August 2011. However, things do not always go as planned. So I'm thinking of doing a short program of technical, medical school if there is no this application cycle. Having had a lot of classes science, such as medical terminology, physics, biology, microbiology, organic chemistry, genetics, etc., how long would I needed to become an ultrasound tech? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
