Question About Future Career In Nutrition?
ok so i’m a junior in high school and i’m thinking about going into nutrition. my ideal job is creating a diet plan and telling ppl what foods they should try to eat more/less of in order to help them lose weight. is there a job like this? I was reading about nutritionists who prepare meals for ppl at hospitals but i really dont want to do that. I want to review and improve their actual diet. also, what kind of education do i need to do this? do i have to go to medical school? and what classes should i focus on in high school to prepare me for this career? Thanks for any and all help.
My mother got a certification in nutrition and one in personal training. She trained people in their homes and prepared their meals with the appropriatecalories and nutritional value. As far as I know, it is just a certification….you should type “nutritionist job description” into google and see what comes up. I would also suggest researching by visiting a weight loss place such as Curves or Jenny Craig to see if you could get an idea as to what it would require to be a nutritionist for them. I know for sure that you won’t have to go through medical school though. I would definitely take anatomy if you are interested in any medical career track. I took it my Junior year but senior year will probably be even better. It will help you prepare for college classes you will take. I hope I could help =) Good Luck!
