Is it normal for my hedgehog not try any new foods?
My hedgehog eating his dry food for cats, but I can not get to eat anything else. I tried apples, carrots, strawberries and lettuce and it will bite them and then self-anoint but he will not eat anything. He ate some carrots the first Once I have it (I've had for a year). Also, when I started feeding mealworms that I loved, but after several months was less interested and would not swallowed immediately as before – he'll bite on it and leave it and put it in your meal is going to eat later. I read online about nutrition suitable for hedgies and how love is all about and I'm frustrated / concerned. Is this normal?
Hedgehogs are insectivorous diet, and results are essentially carnivores such as cats, unlike guinea pigs, rabbits and smaller rodents, which are generally vegetarians. Or high quality cat food kittens, as Hill Science diet or Iams, the hedgehog maintenance diet (various sources) or ferret food (Marshall Farms is recommended. Both dry and canned food must be provided. They also eat worms, pinky mice, and worms. Small amounts of beta-carotene-rich vegetables should also be provided.
