Which one is the better nutrition choice if i had to pick the flavor of my daughters 1st birthday cake?

banana? or carrot?

I picked a pumpkin cake, she loved the flavor and so did everyone else since it was more festive for a fall birthday. Of those two, I’d say banana because carrot often has that thick frosting on it, though I’d personally prefer carrot because I love that frosting.

Add: To all the parents saying real cake… realize that it’s not just sugar that some of us don’t want to expose a baby to on their first birthday. My family has a history of allergies, chocolate, milk, eggs, soy, etc. At a year old, we had tried a lot of things, but chocolate or vanilla cake mixes used ingredients I hadn’t tested her against yet. So I wanted a cake that was safe, with ingredients I could trust. A squash-muffin-mix gave her something special that we could call a cake but was safe. For my daughter’s second, she wanted pink, so she got a strawberry cake. I wouldn’t have dared since strawberry is an allergy in my family for her first birthday.

Stop judging parents who may not want to give their baby the same thing you had no problem giving them. They won’t remember their first birthday, so it honestly doesn’t do a thing to make it more special to give them the “real deal”.
