Nutrition Open University

Are these good A-level options?

Chemistry, Biology, Maths (pure and statistics), and Religious studies (Biblical).
This is for a possible career in perhaps Nutrition/Dietetics, Pharmacy or maybe Medicine (if I can get the grades that is.) Do they see Religious studies as an ok subject for these careers?? Or I may go for something completely different e.g. studying Theology at University, hence the Religious studies. Are these options strong academic subjects, that will keep my options open for sciencey careers or maybe thelogical??

Thanks a lot!
I’m hoping for A/A* in all of these subjects at GCSE, just nervously awaiting my results at the moment.

Very good. The combined Chemistry and Biology are compulsory for Medicine related studies. Pure maths is very academic and shows your ability to think logically and problem-solve. Religious studies would help if it comes to studying Theology at University but I don’t think it’s 100% necessary: I was given offers for Philosophy at UCL and King’s College whilst studying a combination of Maths, Biology and Chemistry A-levels. However, there’s no harm in studying 4 subjects at As level and I am sure studying a variety of subjects will help you better decide what degree you’ll read at university. If I was you I would definitely choose all 4, and drop one prior to the A2 year. Keep in mind that if you do decide to go for medicine you may well be expected to have done substantial volunteering in the health-care sector, so you may want to get that sorted out if you haven’t already. Hope I helped.
