Why do nutrition labels not give the daily value for sugar?
I just read the recommended amount of sugar for one day is 40 grams..I dont see how anyone can abide by that it just seems too little of an amount to me.
Example:
Just one cup of milk has 12g of sugar. Added with a cup of frosted flakes is another 12g of sugar. Thats already over half the ‘daily recommended amount’
That’s because there is no daily recommended value for sugar. Experts believe you need little to no sugar in your diet.
The US Food Guidelines have set the maximum allowance for sugar based on a 2000 calorie diet at 40 grams, that is about 8 percent of your calories.
