nutrition class cooking unhealthy?
It’s my first year in high school and I’m taking a food/nutrition class and I don’t think were cooking all that healthy.
We usually cook on Thursday and Fridays.
So far we’ve just made breads .. monkey bread what is just rolls,sugar,cinnamon,and icing. Peanut butter cookies,puppy chow that’s chex cereal,peanut butter,chocolate,and powdered sugar. Tomorrow were making pancake batter then Monday were cooking them with our choice of blueberries or chocolate chips.
I guess our next thing is pastas like lasagna.
But we learn a lot about nutrition but not cooking healthy. EVEN THOUGH IT’S FROM SCRATCH…
those basic skills you are learning can be translated into healthier cooking but you know, not everything you put into your mouth HAS to be super nutritious and totally healthy.
People enjoy treats too.
Nothing wrong with whole wheat pancakes and a whole fruit spread and once you know how to make basic pancake batter you can change it up to suit you.
Same with pasta and lasagna.
The basic cooking techniques are the same whether you are using whole wheat pasta or the plain white flour kind.
