Nutrition Schools In California

What major should I pick?
I’m just now ending my freshman year at a community college in Ohio. I want to either go to Ohio State or transfer somewhere out to California in the next year or so.
Lately I feel like I need to pick a major because I am falling behind and have no motivation or anything to strive for. I’m interested in the arts and I was going to school in Georgia for a bit for film. Nothing I seem to research or think about interests me. I’ve thought about nutrition, peace & conflict resolution studies, entrepreneurial studies, and philosophy. I can’t make up my mind about anything though. I’m looking for something different and something that can bring in money. I’m trying to turn away from the arts and I don’t really know what else I’m good at. Open to all suggestions. Thanks
First, you might want to use this summer as a chance to explore a career option you are thinking about more closely. Can you find an internship or can your school help you find one?
Don’t just move to California because you think things will be different. You’ll still have to choose a major and think about your future–and if you are leaving family and friends behind, it can be a hard adjustment.
Meet with your adviser. Find out what classes are required in the majors you are considering. That can really help you see if it meets your requirements for happiness. Like, if a major has a TON of math and you hate math, it would probably be a good idea to move along.
You can try to find free career tests online. There’s all sorts of them but I think that at this point, you need to be branching out in your classes and trying new things. Are you getting involved in school activities? That can help open your eyes to careers you didn’t previously think about.
Any career can bring in money. Don’t worry so much about that–who wants to get up everyday for a career where they make a lot of money but hate every second of it? Instead, find something that fits you and if you are motivated, you can make it work.
