Dog owners … What has been your experience with the tick-borne disease erlichea?
We just found out our dog has to get their annual blood test heartworm. It was not symptomatic. I've been researching online, so I understand the aspect of pathophysiology. But I wonder what kind of experiences I've had with a dog that has had? How long they lived after diagnosis? What was the quality of life? What kind of treatments are used and what worked best? That kind of thing. At this point, is the picture of good health. I love running with my husband and full energy. Based on the recommendations of our veterinarian we're just giving the dog food with best nutritional supplements and antioxidants keep your immunity up. This conservative approach is recommended even when (and if) the dog every time they begin to show symptoms. Your thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated. Our vet called the dog equivalent of Lyme disease.
