Nutrition Therapy For Cancer

I am a young man interested in health and nutrition. It bothers me that this nation relies heavily on pharmaceuticals instead of taking care of themselves before the "disease" occurs. I lost my mother for systemic lupus after the battle of 13 years him. Near the end I tried to get to start eating lots of fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants, perhaps even to go vegan, but the willpower not to was there for her. My girlfriend's uncle has been diagnosed with lung cancer and an estimated 2 years to live. I think his life could be saved with some type of nutritional therapy, but I'm not sure exactly what to do, any ideas?
nick Sorry for your loss, I feel bad to say against of his thought, but that antioxidants do not have "shown" on paper. They are used all over the world because no data suggest a potential benefit of its consumption. use of natural resources such as fruits and vegetables is by all means better than things like multivitamins, etc, as long as other coexisting conditions permit.
