Nutrition Turkey Bacon
Posted in Health and Nutrition on 07/09/2007 08:16 am by Steven NerenbergIs it okay to feed a ferret turkey bacon?
I just want to know if its the best nutrition wise for a ferret.
Or I could just ask someone else that has experience with ferrets? My vet is really a Dog and Cat vet. When I brought my ferret to the vet she had to look in a book, lol. They are considered exotic animals.
The “best” nutrition-wise for ferrets is a high quality kibble like Totally Ferret in America or Vitalin in the UK, or otherwise a diet of whole, raw prey animals with their fur and feathers still attached (rabbits, day old chicks, mice and rats from the reptile store, turkey necks, etc), with perhaps occasional boiled eggs. Turkey bacon isnt a good staple for a ferret, and as a treat its high in salt, so no more than a piece the size of your pinkie fingernail once or twice a week if you want to use it as a treat.
