What is a reasonably priced, quality dry dog food?

I will be getting my first dog next week and I want to take the best care of him that I can. He is a one-and-a-half year old, 25-pound Terrier mix (he looks a lot like a Border Terrier to me). I’ve been researching online to see what the best dry dog foods are, but the brands that are the highest rated are also incredibly expensive! I’m talking twice the cost of other brands. They’re usually called “premium” dog food and it sounds like they’re used for mostly show dogs. Look, I’m going to love my dog and I want him to be healthy and happy, but the fact is he’s not a show dog, he’s a mutt from the pound. What are some quality, reasonably priced brands of dry dog food that will not make him sick and will give him the nutrition he needs without a lot of filler? Thanks for any suggestions!

i buy my dogs purina lamb and rice..they are as healthy as any dog on high priced dog food..it cost me $22 for a 20 lb bag..but it last them about 6 weeks…
