What is the lower profit margin for supplements (whey, creatine, etc)?

I am doing some research on sports nutrition and I'm trying to figure out the costs associated with sports supplements. Every time I go local food stores or search online, I see no great differences in the prices of the same items. Anyone here work in the supplement industry and I can say the typical wholesale price compared to the price.

It's huge! Manufacturing (MFG) typically have at least a margin of 75% profit … then sell to a distributor of some guys who have about a margin of 25%, then the dealer sells to a store that has about 50% profit margin. That is the simple side … can not be further handed … conclusion is that these guys are making so much money with large marketing budgets to manipulate buyers all day!
